Dating to the interwar period (circa 1921–1941), this piece features a classic "Famille Jaune" style with a brilliant yellow center and a striking black "Famille Noire" rim decorated with hand-painted fans and ribbons. The centerpiece features a majestic Bird of Paradise (Phoenix) in flight over lush white and blue peonies. This plate showcases exquisite Moriage work—the enamel paint is heavily layered, giving the flowers and bird a tactile, three-dimensional "bumpy" texture that catches the light beautifully. Key Features: Age: Circa 1920s-1930s (Taisho/Early Showa Era). Markings: Stamped in red "Made in Japan" on the reverse. Technique: Hand-painted with raised enamel (Moriage). The colors remain incredibly vibrant with very little wear to the enamel.
