Unusual for a hand thrown piece, the walls of this mug are thin and delicate. The base and handle are heavier and more substantial giving a nice weight to the piece. The shape of this mug wider than it is tall making it perfect for cappuccino. This a beautiful vintage studio art pottery hand-thrown coffee mug or teacup.  Unusual for a hand thrown piece, the walls of this mug are thin and delicate.  The base and handle are heavier and more substantial giving a nice weight to the piece.  The shape of this mug wider than it is tall making it perfect for cappuccino.  The handles is attached beautifully and seamlessly.   This is a unique black stoneware piece, finished with a stunning drip glaze in shades of blue and brown with highlights in tomes of aqua and sage. (It's stunning!!)  The signature/maker's mark on the bottom reads "Ceramics by Deb."   The mug measures 4 1/4" (4.25 inches) in diameter and is approximately 2 1/2" (2.5 inches) tall.  From the edge of the rim to the edge of the handle the mug measures approximately 6" (6 inches).   This item is in excellent vintage condition.  There is a raised area on the interior of the handle.  Because I did not design the mug, I am unsure if this is part of the design intended as a grip or if this raised area was unintentional or a flaw.
