View Rare Vintage Hand Painted Santa Claus Kokeshi Bobble Head Pencils Set Of 2 New with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. The wooden Santa heads are hand painted. They are attached to the pencils in a way that allows the heads to "bobble" or "nod.". Both Santas have red and white hats and white beards. One Santa also has an attached jingle bell. This is a rare vintage set of kokeshi style Santa Claus bobble head pencils.  These items were popular mid-century collectable souvenirs.  These pencils are marked "Santa's Trading Post" and "Santa Claus, Calif." Both pencils also have Japanese text which appears to indicate that the pencils are lead free.  The wooden Santa heads are hand painted.  They are attached to the pencils in a way that allows the heads to "bobble" or "nod."  Both Santas have red and white hats and white beards.  The Santa's have unique facial features, meaning they are not the same design.  One Santa also has an attached jingle bell.   The pencils measure 8 1/2 inches (8.5").   These items are in unused condition.   The pencils have never been sharpened.   The Santa Claus heads do show signs of age and wear.  There are visible paint scratches/chips in the paint.  There is also visible soiling or staining on the pencils.  (Some of this may remove with cleaning.  I have not attempted to clean these items.)   There are visible scratches, small dents, and discoloration in the red paint on the pencils.  One is in better condition than the other.  One may be more heavily soiled or may have come into contact with something that reacted with the paint.  (Again, I am not sure what may clean up and what is an actual stain.) One pencil has the jingle bell intact, and the other does not have the bell.  The pencil with the bell does have a tiny bit of pink discoloration on the bell and green ribbon. I believe this will remove with cleaning.   Please review the photos carefully, as they are the best representation of the condition of these items.   Condition: New other (see details).
