Top is finished with individually applied flower heads with blue centers, and mounted with a pair of playful chubby Putti style cherubs holding more strands and floral accents. Featuring an oblong shape with concave sides covered with finely looped extruded pottery coils in a lattice style basket weave design which forms a dainty scallop around the box side edges. Top is finished with individually applied flower heads with blue centers, and mounted with a pair of playful chubby Putti style cherubs holding more strands and floral accents. Hand made with wonderful detail, the cherubs are hand formed with tiny applied features, leaves, flowers and hair - even their little hands and toes are hand cut to create detail. Marked on the underside T.K.C. LG/95AB MADE IN ITALY, box base is complete with tiny bun feet - color is Wedgwood Blue and glaze is high. Condition is lovely with no cracks, hairlines, repairs or discoloration to the box - there is one fine strand on the box side which has a tiny crack or line as shown - this is under the glaze and a result of production - one strand on the side edge by the base also has a tiny flake of loss. Other than the minute chip on one petal held in the cherub's outstretched hand, I find no additional damage with my magnifier.
