View Vintage Southwest Pueblo Style Pottery Seed Pot Polychrome Sgraffito Signed 1980 with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. A beautifully made miniature seed pot in the Southwest Pueblo tradition, featuring polychrome sgraffito decoration — geometric forms and stylized bird and animal figures incised through banded terracotta and turquoise-toned slip over a cream ground, with a cream lower half separated by a black painted band. Approximately 3.5" in diameter and 2.5" tall.  A two-line signature is incised on the base; our best reading is "B. Horne" or "Bly Horne" on the first line and "Mary" on the second, but the artist has not been identified through research. The original owner purchased this in the 1980s in South Dakota and represented it as Native American pottery; tribal attribution and artist identity have not been independently verified. The style, construction, and sgraffito motifs are consistent with Southwest Pueblo work of the late 20th century. A strong display piece and a potential research find for a knowledgeable collector.
