This is a deadstock painted plate from the 1980s from the now defunct Bon Marche department store. It's intended for decorative purposes only. The price tag was still on the back so it was never used. It is hand painted in pretty pastel shades of pink, celadon, lilac and tangerine. It depicts birds carrying ribbons in their beaks set against a background of peonies. It is heavy and has a glossy finish. It states on the reverse that it's not for food use.
