About Karatsu ware ↓ Karatsu ware is a traditional pottery with a history of approximately 400 years, originating in the Kishidake area of Kitahata, Saga Prefecture, during the Azuchi-Momoyama period in the 1580s. Its origins date back to the late 16th century in the Kishidake area of northern Saga and Nagasaki Prefectures.
