ITEM:  Antique No. 64 Boxwood & Brass Folding Rule  MODEL:  No. 64  TYPE:  12-Inch, Four-Fold (Pocket Size) DESCRIPTION:  Up for sale is an  ANTIQUE NO. 64 BOXWOOD & BRASS FOUR-FOLD RULE . This is a classic 12-inch "pocket" rule, folding down to a compact 3 inches. These were the standard for 19th and early 20th-century tradesmen who required precision in a portable size. CONDITION DETAILS: MARKINGS:  The "No 64" stamp is deep and clearly legible. While there is no visible maker's mark (common for rules of this era or those made by Chapin-Stephens), the quality and construction are consistent with high-end early production. WOOD:  The boxwood has a beautiful, authentic  HONEY-COLORED PATINA . No major cracks or deep gouges; the edges remain relatively sharp for its age. BRASS:  The brass hinges and end caps show a natural aged patina. All but one  ORIGINAL BRASS ALIGNMENT PINS  are still present and intact, which is often a missing detail on these antique rules.
