Five small cherub figures modelled in chalkware and painted by hand, each with a pale body, pink and blue wings and a coloured sash. Two still carry their wire hangers and one holds a small gold star. None of the five is posed the same way. One reaches forward, one lies back, one turns as though looking over a shoulder. That is more work than a set like this needed, and it is the reason they read as a group rather than as five copies of one thing. Chalkware is plaster cast in a mould and painted cold rather than fired, which is why the colour sits on the surface and rubs at the edges where hands and packing have touched it. It is also why they weigh almost nothing for their size. There are no marks on any of the five and I have not identified who made them or when. A coin appears in several photographs for scale.
