Vtg 1980s Louisville KY Running Horse Plastic Lapel Hat Pin Bernie Boston Estate Bernie Boston (1933–2008) was a highly decorated American photojournalist whose four-decade career captured some of the most pivotal moments in 20th-century history. He is best known for his iconic, Pulitzer-nominated 1967 photograph "Flower Power," which became one of the defining images of the anti-war movement. Boston served as Director of Photography for the Washington Star and later established the Los Angeles Times Washington photo bureau, allowing him a front-row seat to national politics where he photographed every U.S. president from Harry Truman to Bill Clinton, alongside civil rights leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A four-term president of the White House News Photographers Association and a Society of Professional Journalists Hall of Fame inductee, Boston's archive remains a cornerstone of American historical documentation. This item was purchased directly from the Bernie Boston (Peggy Boston) Estate via the “Boston & Wightman Collections Auction - 550” by Laughlin Auctions (Edinburg, VA 22824) on August 2026; Lot 1317. Lot 1317 contained essentially every piece of professional ephemera that Bernie Boston collected and saved throughout his lifetime career, which was then inherited by Peggy Boston.
