The reverse is fitted with a pin stem and clasp. Antique Art Deco carved shell cameo brooch featuring an elegant young woman in profile, often referred to as a “Flapper Girl” cameo. The finely carved portrait depicts a fashionable woman with an upswept hairstyle accented by flowers, surrounded by additional floral details at the shoulders. The warm peach and cream coloration of the shell creates beautiful contrast and dimension throughout the carving. The cameo is mounted in an ornate pierced silver-tone filigree frame with delicate floral and scrolling decoration. The reverse is fitted with a pin stem and clasp. A particularly lovely small-scale Art Deco cameo with excellent decorative presence and finely rendered hair, facial features and floral details. Measurements: approximately 1.6” H × 1.3” W. Condition: Very good antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear and patina to the setting. The shell displays minor natural and age-related surface characteristics.
