Vintage 1940s Parisina Marcel Boucher Sterling Mexico Shell Necklace 58g 16” Exceptional vintage Mexican sterling silver statement necklace marked PARISINA / STERLING / MEXICO, from the Parisina line associated with renowned jewelry designer Marcel Boucher. Research indicates that Parisina was the mark used for Boucher’s sterling silver jewelry produced in Mexico during the 1940s/WWII era. This substantial necklace weighs approximately 58 grams and measures approximately 16” long. It features an articulated collar-style construction composed of dimensional scallop/seashell-form sterling silver links, each originally accented with a creamy pearl-like cabochon. The individual shell links are beautifully sculpted with radiating detail and are articulated to allow the necklace to drape comfortably around the neckline. Natural darkened patina remains within the recessed areas, giving the shells wonderful depth and emphasizing the dimensional design. TWO of the original loose accents are included with the purchase and have intentionally NOT been glued back into place. The third missing accent is not present. The loose originals are being included as found so the next owner may choose whether and how to have them professionally reattached/restored. The remaining accents have not been represented as natural or cultured pearls. They are described conservatively as faux pearl/pearl-like accents. The sterling has not been aggressively polished, preserving the vintage patina and darkened detail within the dimensional shell design. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the description and show the necklace’s condition, hallmark, construction and missing accents.
