This lovely and well made brooch measures 2.1 inches across by approximately 1.75 inches.  The center cabochon is either black glass or perhaps onyx.  I would assume glass unless tested.  It is surrounded by a lovely curved brushed gold frame with beaded edges of shiny gold.
