This is a wonderful piece for the serious Nippon collector. Beautiful porcelain vase that is intricately hand painted with large pink flowers that appear to be peonies. Interspaced are light blue characters. The handle is cream and dark blue and matched the upper part of the vase. Gold/gilt trim accepts all over the vase. Appx. 10" x 6" and in amazing condition. This vase is marked with the maple leaf mark from 1891. The mark is 1/4" high. ? Maple Leaf Nippon?, marks dates back to 1891. Found in green,  blue  (shown)  and magenta. This mark is 1/4? high. Known fake Maple Leaf backstamps are 1/2? high. You can rest assured this is a authentic Hand Painted Nippon Vase from 1891. This is a wonderful piece for the serious Nippon collector.
