The honeycomb-like facets were in fact originally hand cut facets covering an objects surface. Several glass manufacturers produced the century-plus later Georgian pressed glass variations. Viking is one of those. The pattern takes the name from the early Georgian period, when they were then believed to have been first popular. The Viking Company made Georgian Ruby Red from 1940 to 1998 and it is now discontinued. These glasses are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
