Flowers are reminiscent of life and sunshine. This gorgeous Staffordshire Floral vase figurine is a vintage gem from Staffordshire, England, dating to the 1950s. This rather large composition showcases 12 flowers: 3 plumeria (yellow and pink on white); 3 anemones (purple, blue, and red); 1 red rose; 2 carnations (pink and yellow); 2 tulips (blue and red); and 1 purple pansy. All gracefully arranged within a pristine olive-green vase. The highlight of this arrangement is the unusually large, voluptuous flowers and leaves. Generally speaking, what is special about bone china flowers is that they are entirely hand modelled and painted except for the vase. It is not possible to manufacture these flower arrangements using a mold. Flowers are reminiscent of life and sunshine. Some of the imperfections noted are from the manufacturing process. The blue anemone has a tiny chip only visible if piece is flipped upside down. There is a tiny chip to one of the vase legs. The pink plumeria has a fire crack resulting from the kiln firing process. The vase has a couple of internal hairlines that do not compromise the integrity of the piece.
