The lovely set was made in Japan (Nippon) in the period of 1891-1921. The set is handpainted with coral pink roses with green leaves and features gold moriage roses and garlands. The entire set weighs 7.3 ounces empty. Offering for sale, an antique Nippon China porcelain round, rimmed tray with six (6) matching footed, open salt cellars. The lovely set was made in Japan (Nippon) in the period of 1891-1921. The set is handpainted with coral pink roses with green leaves and features gold moriage roses and garlands. The tray measures 6-1/8" diameter and the salt cellars are 1-1/2" diameter and 7/8" tall. The entire set weighs 7.3 ounces empty. Each salt cellar has gold spot painted “3 nipple legs”. The back of the tray is stamped in green, Nippon with the stylized M wreath and “Hand Painted”. Each salt cellars’ bottom is marked “Hand Painted Nippon” in green letters. The set is used, in very good to excellent condition. There are no chips, nicks, scratches, cracks, or repairs to any of the porcelain pieces that I see. There is a pencil point sized, round, brown spot on the tray that is likely from the manufacturing process. The gold garland trim and moriage roses are intact and vivid. The plain gold trim around the rims does show some wear, especially in the rim of one of the salt cellars. Please check the photos; they are an important part of the description.
