Up for sale is an unmarked combo/plow plane that looks very close to a Stanley #45. The body still has most of its black japanned finish but was coated with a thin layer of varnish or linseed oil since it was displayed in a local museum for close to 90 years. Surprisingly enough, those are available from a few online retailers. I’ve looked this thing over multiple times are don’t see any markings, stampings or engraving that would indicate a manufacturer but it looks like a Stanley. I also own some Union planes that were not marked after being acquired by Stanley so it’s possible is something similar to that? That layer has preserved the plane nicely and prevented heavy rusting. The wood handles look decent with a very minor crack on the tote but the knob is free of cracks Condition: Used.
