The bowl is hand-blown and formed into a symmetrical star / starburst (“stellato”) shape , a popular Murano decorative form of the mid-to-late 20th century, circa 1960s–1980s . The interior ribbon effect is created using traditional latticino / filigrana thread technique , in which fine opaque white glass canes are stretched within clear or lightly tinted glass to produce delicate feathered lines and movement throughout the piece. This technique is characteristic of Venetian glassmaking and emphasizes internal design rather than surface painting.
