A magnificent hand-painted porcelain covered urn, of ovoid form with gilt bronze mounts and integral pedestal base. The reverse displays a pair of putti reading and presenting a dove, while the obverse features a tender allegorical tableau of maiden and winged child beneath flowering boughs. A magnificent hand-painted porcelain covered urn, of ovoid form with gilt bronze mounts and integral pedestal base. The body is masterfully hand-painted with charming scenes featuring maidens amid a lush, romantic landscape; with cherubs, and doves, all richly rendered in soft pastels and vibrant florals. The reverse displays a pair of putti reading and presenting a dove, while the obverse features a tender allegorical tableau of maiden and winged child beneath flowering boughs. Mounted with finely cast gilt bronze handles in the form of classical masks and scrolling acanthus, and the lid is adorned with floral painting and surmounted by an acorn finial. The neck and foot are further decorated with botanical motifs in delicate enamels, all resting on an ornate gilt bronze base with scalloped and scrolled feet.  Condition: Used.
