Beautiful vintage hand-carved shell cameo featuring an elegant lady profile with floral accents. The cameo is set in a 12K gold-filled frame and can be worn as either a brooch or pendant. The inside top of the frame is marked “1/20 12K” . The back of the shell cameo has a carved artist signature that appears to read “Lea” (or similar). Many signed shell cameos of this style were handcrafted in Torre del Greco, Italy, a region famous for traditional cameo carving. Please see the last 3 pictures.
