Offering for sale, a vintage Golden Crown E&R Nachtmann Cranberry Cut to Clear Hock Wine Goblet. The round, decorative goblet has a capacity of 8 oz to the rim and feature a glossy finish. Historically, these wine goblets were used for serving hock, a cold German white wine, and have become highly sought-after collector pieces for their vivid color and beautiful crystal craftsmanship. The cranberry color was created by adding small amounts of gold chloride to the molten glass. This elegant art glass features a vibrant curved bowl with meticulous cut-to-clear circles and multiple horizontal tiers of cut-glass with fern shaped facets, resting beautifully atop a classic paneled faceted clear crystal stem with a clear foot. The elongated, heavy clear stem prevents the drinker's warm hand from touching the bowl, ensuring the chilled wine remains perfectly cold. In the 1960-1970s, E & R marketed, branded, and sold these hock wine glasses as their "Golden Crown" collection. Nachtmann Crystal, a West German quality crystal company, manufactured this crystal wine goblet, and called their pattern "Bamburg" from the shape of the goblet’s bowl. It the same pattern made by the same company but marketed by 2 different companies with 2 different names. Production is discontinued.
