Antique 19th Century French Empire Gilt Bronze & Ebonized Urn Vase Pair A beautiful pair of antique French Empire urn-form decorative vases dating to the 19th century. Each features a gilt bronze campana-form urn with classical detailing, mounted on an ebonized rectangular pedestal with gilt trim and wreath decoration. The warm gilt finish has developed an attractive aged patina over many decades. These were acquired from the estate of a long-time collector and had been displayed with pillar candles, making an elegant pair of decorative candleholders. They were originally designed as decorative urn vases or garniture pieces. Attributed to France based on style, construction, and decorative elements; no maker's mark has been found. Approximate measurements: Height: 10 inches Width: 3 inches Depth: 2.75 inches Condition: Very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Expected rubbing and finish loss to the ebonized bases, scattered oxidation and verdigris in recessed areas, residue and oxidation inside the urns from prior decorative use, and general wear consistent with approximately 150 years of age.
