Vintage hand-stitched needlepoint  tapestry depicting an Eastern Orthodox icon of the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child .   It features traditional iconography with Greek lettering abbreviations (like MP ΘY for Mother of God) and a textured gold-halo background inside a decorative ornate gilded gold frame.   Such framed religious needlepoint pieces are often handmade or crafted. This one is beautifully executed and framed, with back hook, and ready to hang.  Condition is excellent.
