Vintage round pocket tape measure featuring a heavy pressed-steel case, flexible metal measuring blade and red center push-button spring release. The steel blade displays graduated inch markings and has two original anchoring holes near the end. The maker is unknown because no visible brand or model markings remain on the case. Similar compact measuring tools were produced in the United States during the 1930s through 1950s for mechanics, carpenters, craftspeople and general household use. This piece displays substantial authentic age and use, including oxidation, rust, darkened patina, finish loss, scratches, discoloration and wear to the printed measurements.
