Lost behind her headboard, are a crumpled “Dalmatian print” cigarette box, a string of pearls and a half-eaten sandwich! Hand-painted porcelain figurine of Cruella De Vil in bed with gold cord purse strap, “plussed” with bronze arms, cigarette and holder, pewter bedside table (including all items), wire telephone cord, and resin head and foot boards, inspired by her appearance in Walt Disney’s 101 Dalmatians animated film (1961).  The Devilish Dognapper sits up in her ornately carved and upholstered bed — topped with a CD crest flanked with gargoyles — wearing curlers and an opulent fur-trimmed dressing gown while smoking her infamous pink cigarettes in an elongated holder. From this classic scene in the film, which occurs within Cruella’s manor home, Hell Hall – particularly in her extravagant yet cluttered boudoir – she takes a telephone call while in bed from her henchmen Jasper and Horace who are nervous about the puppy-napping, then she calls Roger and Anita to offer her (false) condolences. This figurine also incorporates a variety of items either seen within – or inspired by – the film’s background artwork, including: squished pink cigarettes everywhere, a green Dragon head lighter with a cigarette case filled with pink cigarettes on the bed next to Cruella, her recognizable lilac-colored stockings and fur pelt purse hung over the headboard, a white slip with eyelets draped over the footboard, her two red gloves falling out of the drawer on her side table, one of her pointed red shoes on the surface of the side table along with two bottles, a silver spoon, an overflowing ashtray, and a red rotary-dial telephone accented with a Devil head and ball & claw feet. The floor area is covered in purple shag carpeting accented with Cruella’s iconic black dress, a tissue box (with pink tissues, of course) and scattered newspapers.  Lost behind her headboard, are a crumpled “Dalmatian print” cigarette box, a string of pearls and a half-eaten sandwich!
