I can attribute however, that this piece was acquired along with other authenticated pieces and is from the Tucson, AZ area. Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Southwestern Native American style hand-coiled basket bowl, measuring 13 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches deep. It's a unique and handmade piece of art. Based on the technical four-knot square plaited center start, dense coil weave, and traditional stepped geometric motif, this piece is strongly attributed to the Akimel O'odham (Pima) or Tohono O'odham (Papago) weaving traditions of the early-to-mid 20th century. I DO NOT HAVE A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY, so it is being sold as an attribution based on its structural characteristics. I can attribute however, that this piece was acquired along with other authenticated pieces and is from the Tucson, AZ area. There is one break in the coil, at the bottom of the basket. The "weep" hole shown is normal and not a defect. Please view the listing photos for all existing conditions.
