Charming pair of well-loved vintage teddy bears being sold together as found. The larger bear measures approximately 12 inches long and features brown curly plush, movable/jointed arms and legs, cotton stuffing, a fabric muzzle, and hand-stitched black nose and mouth. One original mustard/gold felt foot pad remains. The smaller bear measures approximately 5 inches tall and has golden brown plush, black stitched facial features and a wonderfully simple, old-fashioned construction. He is unmarked and his exact age and maker are unknown. The exact manufacturer and age of both bears are unknown. Based on the materials and construction of the larger bear, he appears to be an older vintage or antique example, possibly dating approximately to the 1930s-1950s. No maker's tags or identifying marks were found. CONDITION: Both bears are being sold in as-found vintage condition with age-related wear. The larger bear is missing both original eyes. Both front paw pads and one rear foot pad are missing, with the original construction and some cotton stuffing visible. The remaining mustard/gold felt foot pad shows considerable wear. His plush has thinning, loss, discoloration and soiling, with areas of the underlying fabric and seams visible. A small, thin, lightweight disc can be felt inside the larger bear's body. Its purpose is unknown, and no attempt has been made to open the bear or investigate it. The smaller bear also shows age-related wear, including soiling, discoloration, wear to the plush and loose threads. Please see photographs for his complete condition. Neither bear has been restored or repaired. I have intentionally left them exactly as found rather than attempting to replace missing eyes, paw pads or other components. Please examine all photographs carefully. The photographs are an important part of the condition description. A wonderfully character-filled pair for an antique or vintage teddy bear collection, display, restoration project, or anyone who appreciates well-loved old bears.
