You can easily see the hand wrought nature of this piece in the photos.  The ladle has a very heavy solid brass handle.  I am not sure if it is cast or forged.  It is attached to the bowl with hand wrought rivets.  Please note that the bowl is not solid copper.  It appears to be made from some base metal alloy that is copper plated on the back.  On close inspect, you can seen that the copper does not go quite up to the edge. The result is a great looking primitive piece what would be wonderful for display on its own or with similar pieces of hand wrought metal.  The piece would look nice hung with either the open bowl side or the copper plated side facing out. The overall length from the end of the handle to the furthest point on the bowl is 10".  The handle alone is 5 3/4" long, and the bowl is about 4 3/4" in diameter, and 2 1/4" deep. We have a variety of other antique and vintage graniteware kitchen item and metalware items in our ebay store, including, at the time of the original listing, several ladles, dippers, strainers, and colanders. Condition As found, there is a shallow dent in the bowl about 5/8" in diameter.  This can be seen in a closeup photo with four arrows indicating the circumference.  There is also fairly heavy wear and variation in the patina of the copper plating as seen.  Some of this may be an artifact of the original plating process; I do not know for sure.
