This elegant vintage miniature porcelain Persian-style cat figurine is a beautiful example of classic mid-century Japanese giftware. Measuring approximately 2 inches tall by 2 inches long, it features a flowing sculpted coat, expressive hand-painted eyes, a graceful raised tail, and a glossy porcelain finish. Research indicates this figurine is most likely an unmarked Japanese export piece produced between approximately 1958 and 1965. The sculpting and construction closely resemble figurines imported by Lefton, Norcrest, Napco, Norleans, and similar Japanese giftware companies. Although the original foil label is no longer present, the style, glaze, and kiln vent construction strongly support this attribution. The figurine remains in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks observed. Normal kiln vent holes are present as part of the original manufacturing process. Whether displayed alone or as part of a larger collection of vintage Japanese porcelain animals, this charming Persian cat is sure to appeal to collectors of mid-century decorative art.
