The reverse of the pendant is stamped with a lowercase "sterling" purity mark directly beneath a partial maker's mark. This is an exceptional vintage Southwestern modernist sterling silver pendant, showcasing a sleek, contemporary asymmetric frame that cradles a stunning oval of hand-cut fire opal mosaic channel inlay. The opal displays an incredibly intense play-of-color, radiating brilliant beams of neon red, orange, emerald green, and deep violet. A smaller, round bezel-set fire opal cabochon acts as a perfect structural accent stone along the sweeping sterling curve. The reverse of the pendant is stamped with a lowercase "sterling" purity mark directly beneath a partial maker's mark. While the strike is incomplete/mis-struck, the visible portion of the symbol closely resembles the rising sun/sunburst hallmark of the celebrated Gallup, NM design shop Tèmè (Sunburst Handcrafts Inc.). Known for their elite-tier collaborative reservation work, Tèmè is highly sought after by collectors for their premium fire opal inlay and striking, clean-lined modernism. Due to the partial nature of the strike, I am attributing this piece as "possibly" Tèmè and have priced it accordingly. Weighing a solid 11 grams and measuring approximately 1-1/2" x 7/8", the pendant is designed with a generous, built-in 1/4" chain bale that allows it to float beautifully on a silver collar, omega, or heavy chain. Directly inherited from a premier family legacy collection.
