Chinese Famille Rose Medallion Figural & Bird Teapot 5 1/4'' Chinese Guangcai (Canton Porcelain) teapot made during the Guangxu reign of the Late Qing Dynasty, a classic export porcelain piece for Western markets. Cylindrical body with double loop handles and original woven cord carry handle. Rich gilded scrolling foliage fills the background. Two framed panels adorn the body: one depicts traditional Chinese courtyard figural scene with scholars and ladies, the other features peonies, birds and auspicious fruits. A circular medallion shows mandarin ducks among lotus plants. The lid is decorated with hand-painted peony flower with gilded border. Condition: Fully intact with no chips, cracks or restoration.
