Antique Japanese Meiji Period Kutani Porcelain Scalloped Rectangular Dish 10'' Dimension: 10 x 7.75 inches (25.4 x 19.69cm) antique Japanese export porcelain tray crafted in classic Kutani Ware style during the Meiji Era (1868-1912), made for Western overseas trade. This rectangular platter features elegant scalloped notched corners, decorated with an intricate hand-painted central scene: a group of geisha ladies in traditional kimono strolling through a cherry blossom garden, with a five-story pagoda, traditional Japanese buildings, lake and rolling mountains in the background. Delicate raised Moriage beadwork enamel details adorn the floral areas, paired with lavish hand gilded outlining and vibrant overglaze polychrome enamels — iconic craftsmanship of Kutani porcelain. The border is finished with bold iron-red, emerald green and gold geometric decorative trim. The reverse side has smooth clean white glazed base with defined foot rim, typical of Meiji export production. It can be used as a vanity trinket tray, tea serving dish or wall display decor for vintage Asian collection. Condition: Perfect structural integrity, no chips, cracks or hairlines.
