Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) covered compote in the popular "Daisy and Button with Thumbprint" pattern, made by Adams & Company (Pittsburgh, PA), circa 1886-1891.  Details of the Piece Manufacturer: Adams & Company (operated 1861-1891), a prominent Victorian-era glass producer that later became part of the U.S. Glass Co.. Pattern: Known to collectors as "No. 86" or "Daisy & Button with Thumbprint Panels". The design features eight-sided "buttons" surrounding stylized flowers, with thumbprint panels along the base and lid edges. The pattern was highly popular and produced by many companies, but the specific details help identify the Adams & Co. version. Material: The compote is made of non-flint clear pressed glass. The glass may have a slight amethyst tint due to the aging of manganese, a chemical used at the time to ensure clarity.
