Up for sale is a beautiful piece of early 20th-century history: an antique Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) bowl made by the Imperial Glass Company in their highly sought-after NUCUT No. 501 pattern. [ 1 ] Introduced in the 1910s, the Nucut line was meticulously engineered to closely mimic the heavy, brilliant lead cut crystal of the period. It features stunningly deep crisp geometric molds, intricate diamond-hatch fields, and prominent multi-point hobstar/starburst panels that split the light dramatically. The top border is finished in a sharp, stylized scalloped sawtooth edge. [ 1 ] An incredible, thick, and hefty accent piece that is perfect as a holiday candy dish, nut bowl, or centerpiece. [ 1 ] Condition Details: This bowl is in great antique condition given its century-old age. The glass is clear with great brightness. There are no large chips or cracks, but as is typical with sharp EAPG geometric patterns and sawtooth rims, there may be typical light age roughness or tiny flea bites along the sharpest interior mold edges.
