This sparkling vintage Hofbauer Byrdes crystal bowl is one of those little pieces that manages to be both delicate and wonderfully dramatic. Made in Germany, the bowl features brilliant clear 24% lead crystal accented with three ruby-red medallions, each depicting a detailed bird surrounded by foliage. The bowl rests on three petite crystal feet and features an ornate cut-crystal design, starburst base, and beautifully pointed scalloped rim. Best of all, the original Hofbauer foil label remains inside the bowl, identifying it as genuine 24% lead crystal. The popular Byrdes pattern was produced during the latter part of the 20th century, and this piece is appropriately described as vintage, circa 1970s–1980s. Measuring approximately 4 inches across and 3 inches tall, it's a lovely size for use as a trinket or jewelry dish, small candy or nut bowl, vanity piece, or simply displayed where the ruby birds can catch the light. Condition: Very good vintage condition. No obvious chips or cracks were noted, including along the pointed rim and three crystal feet.
