Up for your consideration is a stunning, authentic antique Art Deco era (c. 1920s–1930s) faceted crystal floral choker necklace. The individual crystal components are carefully hand-wired through this perforated plate. Up for your consideration is a stunning, authentic antique Art Deco era (c. 1920s–1930s) faceted crystal floral choker necklace. This exquisite piece showcases the masterful hand-craftsmanship typical of early 20th-century jewelry coming out of the renowned German, Czech, and Bohemian regions. The centerpiece features a spectacular, dimensional layered flower blossom meticulously constructed from multi-faceted clear glass crystal petals that radiate light beautifully. Flanking the central blossom, the delicate neck chain is composed of alternating elongated pyramid/cone faceted crystal beads and small rondelles, giving the piece a classic Deco geometric profile. This necklace features a textbook translucent celluloid backing disc—a highly collectible finding used by European artisans during this era. The individual crystal components are carefully hand-wired through this perforated plate. The chain finishes with a large, early "thumbless" spring ring clasp typical of early German and continental European manufacture. Unsigned, as was common for trade jewelry of this specific region and time. Necklace is about 15" long. The floral centerpiece is about 1 3/4" x 1 3/4". This piece has been carefully stored (by me) in a jewelry drawer for a few years now and is exceptionally well-preserved for a delicate item nearing a century old. The faceted crystals remain crisp, bright, and clean. No major chips, fractures, or noticeable clouding to the glass. The hand-wiring on the reverse side is remarkably tight, secure, and entirely stable. There are no loose petals or missing components. The translucent yellowed celluloid backing disc is completely intact, with no visible igns of warping, shrinkage, brittleness, or typical antique dry-rot. The brass wire links and the large spring ring clasp have developed a deep, authentic, darkened antique patina that beautifully emphasizes the age of the piece.
