A visible snapped pontil on the bottom reflects its handmade production. Beautiful vintage Mid-Century Modern lidded candy jar in a rich peacock teal-blue color. The hand-blown glass features a subtle vertical optic pattern that creates shifting shades of blue as it catches the light. Its wide, sloping cover and rounded finial are commonly referred to by collectors as a “Circus Tent” lid. Attributed to the Colony import line and believed to have been produced in the Empoli glassmaking region of Italy, circa 1960s. The specific Italian glasshouse is unknown.
