This is decorated with silk embroidery with flowers and scrolling foliage all the way around. The fabric is quite light and lustrous, and the embroidery catches the light. From a local estate auction: a vintage handkerchief made of fine woven silk.  The hanky measures about 16" square and has mellowed to an ivory color.  The edges are scalloped and overcast, and there's a line of laddering or hemstitching all around the perimeter.  This is decorated with silk embroidery with flowers and scrolling foliage all the way around.  The fabric is quite light and lustrous, and the embroidery catches the light. I have laundered and pressed this, and found the fabric to be sound and not brittle or crumbling.  I did find several pinholes at the edges, as shown in the last few closeups, and there is one dark ink blot in a corner.  Still, it's so fine and fancy.  Maybe as a pocket square in a jacket?
