Vintage 1964 Signed Ceramic Rooster Figurine – Mid-Century Hobby Pottery A wonderfully expressive vintage ceramic rooster with an exaggerated sculptural tail, rich red comb, and hand-finished earthy brown, cream, yellow and black detailing. The tall, narrow silhouette and sweeping scroll-like feathers give this piece plenty of character from every angle. The underside is hand-inscribed “FW” and “1964.” The construction and hand-applied decoration are consistent with the hobby ceramics popular during the mid-20th century, when ceramic blanks were individually glazed and kiln-fired by home and studio ceramicists.
