Vintage 1986 Edna Hibel “Emily and Jennifer” Mother’s Day collector plate, the third issue in the Hibel Mother’s Day series, produced on fine china by Edwin M. Knowles. The plate features Hibel’s richly colored portrait of a mother and child in shades of pink, lavender and blue, enhanced with elaborate hand-burnished 18-karat gold accents throughout the design and along the rim. The combination of the portrait and extensive gold decoration makes this a particularly attractive Hibel plate. This limited edition was produced only during a firing period that closed permanently on May 10, 1986. The back identifies this example as Plate No. 10782 and Bradex No. 84-K41-9.3. The plate measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter. Includes the original blue presentation box and Certificate of Authenticity. The plate is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The gold decoration remains bright and displays beautifully. The box and certificate have light age and storage wear.
