Description A decorative Japanese Satsuma-style ceramic vase featuring finely detailed hand-painted figure and garden scenes. The vase is decorated with traditional Japanese figures in colourful robes amongst flowers, trees and butterflies, set against a finely dotted cream ground. Deep cobalt blue borders to the neck and base are embellished with gilt floral decoration and gold banding. The reverse features a complementary garden scene with bamboo and flowers. The body has a traditional crackle-glaze finish and the underside carries a hand-painted character mark. An attractive small decorative vase with strong Japanese export ware and Oriental decorative appeal.
