The glaze is exceptional, combining rich mustard and golden yellow tones with deep chocolate brown and auburn, creating dramatic elongated vertical flows down the body of the vase. Offered is a striking vintage Blue Mountain Pottery of Canada large 13-inch vase finished in the highly decorative Harvest Gold drip/flow glaze. This impressive Mid-Century Modern Canadian art pottery vase features a substantial baluster-form body with rounded shoulders, a narrow neck and beautifully flared trumpet-form rim. The glaze is exceptional, combining rich mustard and golden yellow tones with deep chocolate brown and auburn, creating dramatic elongated vertical flows down the body of the vase. The glossy surface gives the glaze wonderful depth and movement, with each side displaying a slightly different pattern created during firing. The Harvest Gold coloration is a particularly attractive alternative to Blue Mountain Pottery’s better-known blue-green glaze and works beautifully with Mid-Century Modern, retro, organic modern, bohemian and eclectic interiors. The interior of the flared mouth is also glazed in complementary golden brown tones. The underside reveals the characteristic reddish pottery body and retains a faint marking visible in the detailed photographs. At approximately 13 inches tall, this is a substantial decorative vase with excellent visual presence.
