Beautiful pair of vintage rhinestone dress or shoe clips, featuring a floral cluster design with a large round clear rhinestone surrounded by six oval faceted stones. Each clip measures approximately 1 inch across and has an older-style hinged metal clip mechanism on the back. The rhinestones are prong set. The large center stones retain nice sparkle, while many of the smaller surrounding stones show significant age-related darkening, cloudiness and deterioration of the reflective foil backing, giving them an aged appearance. Metal shows additional patina and wear consistent with age. Clips have not been aggressively cleaned or restored. The marking on the back appears to be related to the clip mechanism/patent; no confirmed maker’s mark has been identified. These appear to be early vintage pieces, possibly dating to the 1930s–1940s, but an exact date has not been confirmed.
