The glass displays wonderful shifting shades of rose pink, green, gold and blue depending on the lighting and viewing angle. This large basket features Fenton's deeply textured glass body, dramatically ruffled/scalloped rim and tall applied green glass handle. The iridescent finish gives the piece the brilliant carnival-like appearance visible in the photographs. The underside bears the Fenton mark along with the Bill Fenton signature , an especially desirable feature for Fenton collectors. Fenton Art Glass introduced its Rose Magnolia glass during the early 1990s, with the color appearing in Fenton's 1993 historical collection literature. Rose Magnolia combines rich translucent rose-colored glass with an iridescent surface that produces shifting shades of pink, gold, blue and green. This basket is further accented with Fenton's contrasting Sea Green/Sea Mist Green crest and applied handle. The early 1990s were an important period for Fenton collector glass, including the introduction of the company's Family Signature Series in 1993. This example bears the Fenton mark and the signature of Bill Fenton, a member of the Fenton family who played an important role in the company's history and its collector programs.
