View Antique RPPC Edwardian Woman Seated w Book Painted Studio Backdrop AZO 1904-18 with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. She holds a small dark book in her lap, and a ring is visible on her hand. - Subject: Edwardian woman seated with book, painted studio backdrop. That stamp box dates the card to about 1904–1918, and her clothing and hairstyle fit the early 1910s. Original antique real photo postcard (RPPC) showing a studio portrait of an Edwardian woman seated in front of a hand-painted backdrop. She wears a white shirtwaist blouse with lace insets and a bow at the collar, a long chain necklace with pendant, a dark belt with an ornate metal buckle, and a long dark skirt. She holds a small dark book in her lap, and a ring is visible on her hand. The backdrop has a lot of detail: a column wrapped in trailing vines, painted steps, a lake scene with distant hills, a rustic wooden gate and fence, and leafy trees. She sits on a patterned geometric rug. The tones are rich, with good contrast and clarity. The back is divided, with "POST CARD" at the top, "Correspondence Here" and "Name and Address Here," and an AZO stamp box with four triangles pointing up. That stamp box dates the card to about 1904–1918, and her clothing and hairstyle fit the early 1910s. The card was never mailed and has no message or address. A small pencil price is written in the upper corner. The card measures about 5 3/8" x 3 7/16", a standard postcard size. The sitter and the studio are not identified. This is a nice piece for collectors of early photography, Edwardian fashion and painted studio backdrops, or for vintage portrait displays, junk journals and mixed-media art. The corners are soft and rounded with light wear, and there's general edge wear with a small nick on the bottom edge. The front has a small spot on the blouse, a tiny mark on the upper backdrop, and light surface scuffing in the darker areas near the bottom. The back is evenly toned with light foxing and a few small spots, and there's a pencil price in the upper corner. No tears or creases observed. The image is still strong and clear.
