The image has a very classic late-19th-century studio appearance and shows excellent period clothing detail. Plate measures approximately 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches, roughly corresponding to a sixth-plate-size tintype. Estimated date: circa 1870s–1880s. Condition shows expected age-related wear, including numerous surface scratches, light abrasions, scattered spotting and marks, and minor edge wear. Image remains clear and displays good facial and clothing detail. Reverse is dark with age-related surface wear and an old orange inventory or collection marking.
