It is MUCH prettier in reality than it appears in my photos. This necklace was re-strung in the 1970’s and I believe that the small beads at the top were added to lengthen the original necklace. The crystal beads graduate in size from 5 mm at the top, near the clasp, to 19 mm at the center front. Wonderful antique/vintage sterling silver and faceted, graduated crystal long necklace. This lovely necklace is 38” long and weighs approximately 120 grams. It is MUCH prettier in reality than it appears in my photos. This necklace was re-strung in the 1970’s and I believe that the small beads at the top were added to lengthen the original necklace. The crystal beads graduate in size from 5 mm at the top, near the clasp, to 19 mm at the center front. There are small, faceted crystal rondelle beads in between the larger beads throughout this necklace except for the smaller 5 mm beads, which are strung together. This is an elegant necklace with massive sparkle. The large crystal beads are BEAUTIFULLY faceted and they are quite clean. The small beads near the top of the necklace are all faceted, but they have a simpler cut. I think that the larger beads could be rock crystal, but I am not sure. They are very weighty, very clean and they are in wonderful condition for their age. Frankly, I could find very few signs of wear on these brilliant beads. This necklace is finished with a wonderful, antique sterling silver, filigree, floral, insert fish hook clasp that works very well and that is also in very good condition. It is stamped “Sterling” on the edge. The clasp has been professionally tested as sterling silver.
