Save that, they are all in excellent condition and are free of noteworthy flaws. I’m very excited to offer this incredible, restored c.1910’s era pan style chandelier featuring a dazzling set of wheel cut glass shades! This fixture, from about 1910, is in fantastic vintage condition with a soft, golden mottled patina that brass can only acquire through decades of oxidation. I have not polished the metal as to preserve the interesting color, but it did get a thorough cleaning, at which point I removed the original failed lacquer coating to expose the original color of the metal. There are some minor surface irregularities and inconsistencies, but this can be expected from any fixture from this era. A fixture like this is special, as it is representative of a higher order of pan lights than what most modest working class family would have hung in their house. Higher quality lights were more expensive than average, and harder still to come by today. Lights like these are often tossed in renovations and are not easy to come by in good condition anymore. This particular pan light is very unusual, being that that main body of the fixture is CAST in one solid piece, rather than comprised of several stamped and molded sheet metal parts, which was the norm in this era. Even the arms are not separate - they are all part of the main body casting, and it is a nice, detailed one at that. This is a richly ornamented light, as far as pan style chandeliers go, and was certainly a high end piece in its day. The canopy and the chain loop hardware also sport finely detailed castings.  All that said, this light is HEAVY.  The turn key sockets are original, while the wiring and mounting hardware are all new, the wire being cloth covered like the original would have been. The chain is also new, as the original was badly corroded - a common problem with vintage lights. On the whole the fixture is in very good vintage condition, the only flaws of note being a couple minor dings to the top side of the main body cover, which are only visible from the top looking down and cannot be seen from any normal viewing angle. This is common  of stamped and pressed sheet metal. The wonderful, iridescent, wheel cut glass shades, which feature a delicate trailing leaf and flower motif, are absolutely lovely. They light very well and suit the fixture quite nicely. Their ribbed, A-line form is unusual and visually interesting, and they really “make” the whole piece. Each of the four shades has a roughly ground bottom rim that sports minor chips and flakes, which is fairly common for early 20th century mass produced glass. Save that, they are all in excellent condition and are free of noteworthy flaws. The scale of this light makes it ideal for a medium sized room, at about 20 - inches across, measured diagonally from shade-to-shade, and about 31 - inches long. I can adjust the length up or down a bit if need be - just let me know! I picture it in a living room, a bedroom, over a stairhall landing/common space, or even in a larger closet. Pan lights were wildly popular in the early 20th century, and are very versatile light fixtures that work in just about any space.
