This scalloped/fluted plate is hand painted and shows a Geisha walking near a village (with water nearby?). In the background may be Mount Fuji? It appears that this older plate once had a gold gilt rim but most of the gilt has worn off over the years. This plate is unmarked. Geisha Girl pattern porcelain derives its name from decorations based on Japanese women surrounded by scenes of traditional Japanese life. These include settings in gardens, near temples and other buildings and by lakes and streams. Geisha Girl porcelain has been made in Japan in various forms from the late 19th century to the 1980s. Dimension/size – This fluted plate is a little more than 6” in diameter and stands about ½” high. It weighs less than four ounces. Condition – As can be seen in the photos, this plate has several tight cracks. There are also a few very tiny nicks along the scalloped edge. They are hard to see/photograph. Considering this plate is likely more than 100 years old and that this plate is very fragile that’s not too bad! We also accept checks if you can wait the additional time it takes for the check to clear.
